Fujairah Adventures — FAC Platform (Memberships, Trails, Events & Safety)

Brief
Fujairah Adventures (FAC) needed a single digital platform to power everything the community does—memberships, permits, events & training, trail information, vendor partnerships, and operational safety—in Arabic & English, mobile-first, and easy for staff to run day-to-day. We designed and delivered a clean, modern product that turns outdoor interest into organized, trackable participation.

What we built

1) Public Site & Discovery

• Activity landing pages (hiking, MTB, climbing, water sports) with clear CTAs

• Dynamic calendars for events, courses, races with filters (date/skill/location)

• Trail directory with difficulty ratings, GPX download, elevation and hazards

• Content hub: stories, safety tips, route spotlights, and partner features

2) Member Portal (EN/AR)

• One account for membership, bookings, waivers, payments

• Skill profile, badges/certifications, and activity history

• Digital wallet for passes and QR check-in at events

3) Events, Training & Permits

• End-to-end booking: capacity, waitlists, waiver e-sign, reminders

• Instructor assignment, gear lists, attendance, incident logging

• Permit workflows with approvals, location maps, and audit trail

• Certificates for completed courses (printable/verified)

4) Trails & Maps

• Interactive maps (Mapbox) with segments, POIs, water points, shelters

• Offline GPX packs for leaders and rangers

• Hazard reporting and status (open/closed) with moderator review

5) Vendors & Partners

• Directory for guides, rentals, clubs, sponsors with contact & offers

• Partner logins to publish events under moderation

• Sponsor placements & analytics for brand partners

6) Payments & CRM

• UAE gateways (card, Apple Pay/Google Pay), promo codes, bundles

• Automated invoices, VAT receipts, and refunds; exports to accounting

• Lead capture → segmented email/WhatsApp notifications

7) Admin & Ops Dashboard

• Real-time metrics: registrations, attendance, revenue, trail usage

UX & Technology

• UI/UX: Outdoors-inspired design, strong contrast for sunlit screens, large tap targets, RTL support, and 2–3 click flows for frequent tasks.

• Tech: React/Next.js PWA, Node.js API, PostgreSQL, Mapbox, message queues for notifications, hardened auth, encryption at rest/in transit, nightly backups.

• Accessibility: Keyboard flows, ARIA labels, color-contrast compliance.

Smart Insights (Analytics & AI-assisted)

• Participation trends by activity/season to plan schedules and staffing

• Demand forecasting for popular courses & gear rentals

• Route usage + incident heatmaps to prioritize maintenance and signage

• “Next best activity” suggestions by member skill & past attendance
